When does coolant need to be drained

  1. When the coolant becomes murky and no longer transparent, it is necessary to drain the old coolant, clean the cooling system and fill in new coolant;
  2. When the cooling board is cracked or crushed, necessitating replacement, it's essential to drain the coolant beforehand.

Preparation before operation

  1. Prepare items: ①M3 hexagonal wrench ② M4 hexagonal wrench ③ Flat-nose pliers ④ Wire cutters ⑤ Cable ties ⑥ Clean container ⑦ Nitrile gloves
  2. To ensure complete coolant drainage and prevent injury or printer damage,  please operate with another people.

Operation steps

  1. Turn off the printer and disconnect the power cord;
  2. Remove the right casing and rear casing in sequence;
  3. There are wires connected to the rear casing. Be careful when removing it to avoid breaking the wires. After being removed, it can be leaned against the printer.
  4. Unplug the motor driver cable and remove the motor driver;
  5. Please take a photo before unplugging the wiring to avoid short circuit or burn due to wiring errors when reinstalling. ( The correct wiring diagram is attached below)
  6. Cut the tie, remove the coolant tube plug .
  7. ①The drain port locates in two places, either in the upper (as shown in the first picture below) or the lower (as shown in the third photo below), the latter is the latest.
    ②Be sure to wear nitrile gloves to prevent coolant from contaminating your hands;
    ③When opening the drain port , keep the drain tube stands and gently remove the drain plug to avoid excessive spillage of coolant into the interior of the machine.
  8. Drain the coolant into a prepared container. When draining the coolant, it is recommended that two people operate it. Tilt the printer towards the direction of the coolant discharge (right) to accelerate the draining process.
①Please utilize a container with a capacity exceeding 300 ml. Ensure the container's opening is not excessively wide to prevent liquid leakage when refilling the coolant due to the narrow mouth of the water tank.
②Make sure the inside of the container is clean, and free of dust, water stains and other liquid residues;
③After the coolant is drained, please place the container in a safe place away from the printer to avoid overturning the container during subsequent operations.
④Two people are required to tilt the heavy printer to prevent injury or damage.

  1. After draining the liquid, reinstall the coolant tube plug and move the water stop clamp back to its original position. The draining operation is completed.
