Maintenance tips—resin tips and precautions

This article applies to NBEE, NBEE H, NBEE J, and NBEE D printers

Why is it important to know this?

Understanding and adhering to resin-related precautions are essential to properly store, use, and dispose of resin, safeguarding your equipment, the environment, and your health. Neglecting these precautions could lead to equipment damage, environmental harm, and health risks. Therefore, it is crucial for every user to fully comprehend and follow these guidelines.

Maintenance

Resin Storage

  1. Store resin in a dark environment, ideally within a temperature range of 10 to 35 degrees Celsius, and ensure the ambient humidity does not exceed 45% RH.

  1. When not in use, cover the resin in the resin tank with a resin tank cover. If the resin will not be used for more than 24 hours, it is recommended to recycle it. Use an empty, clean recycling bottle or container, and employ a filter for recycling. Paper scrapers can expedite the recycling process.
Resin tank cover:

Filtration method: Suspend the filter (with a “fine” or ~190 micron mesh size) above an opaque plastic container suitable for storing resin. Use a ring stand to reduce the risk of spilling resin. Please refer to video tutorial: Reclaim used resin.

Resin Usage

Refer to the Instruction for Use (IFU) of each resin for detailed instructions.
  1. The shelf life of the resin is 48 months, and newly opened resin should be used within 180 days.
  1. Thoroughly mix the resin before use by shaking it back and forth or tilting it. Scrape the bottom of the resin tank with a paper scraper to stir the resin in the resin tank

  1. In case of print failure, perform exposure cleaning to clean the resin in the resin tank.
  1. Avoid direct skin contact with resin.

Resin Disposal

Dispose of resin if it is heavily contaminated, expired, or unsuitable for use.
  1. Dispose of uncured resin following chemical waste disposal regulations, avoiding direct discharge into sewers or mixing with domestic waste.
  1. Dispose of cured resin and cleaned parts as household waste.
  1. Adhere to specific disposal methods in compliance with local regulations.
